Local-first by design

Trevec is a local-first tool. Your source code never leaves your machine. All indexing, parsing, and retrieval happen entirely on your device. No code content is ever transmitted to our servers or any third party.

License validation

Trevec Pro validates your license key by communicating with the Lemonsqueezy API. This sends your license key and a hashed device identifier (derived from your hostname and username). No source code or file contents are included in these requests. Validation happens once per day.

Telemetry

Trevec collects anonymous usage telemetry to improve the product. This includes tool names called, response timing, node counts, and error types. No source code, file paths, file contents, or query text is ever included.

Telemetry is sent to PostHog and can be fully disabled at any time by running trevec telemetry off.

Cookies

This website uses Vercel Analytics for page view tracking and a Lemonsqueezy affiliate tracking cookie. No personal data is collected through these cookies.

Data storage

All Trevec data (code index, graph, memory, embeddings) is stored locally on your machine in ~/.trevec/ (global config) and .trevec/ (per-project). You can delete this data at any time by removing these directories.

Third parties

We use the following third-party services:

  • Lemonsqueezy for payment processing and license management
  • PostHog for anonymous product analytics
  • Vercel for website hosting and analytics
  • Cloudflare for CDN and binary distribution
